Call-ups - Entry of Data Guidance

Post by TechTeam »

These screen shots cover the entry of data into the Call-up file. The Call-up Ref number is critical in its make-up. We recommend that you prefix the call-up with the origin, e.g. all American ADs be prefixed 'FAA' (e.g. FAA 97-10-03), UK Directives with 'CAA' (e.g. CAA006-03-95), Maintenance Schedule Items with an aircraft code (e.g. HS1000-05121) to denote Hawker 1000 Aircraft, item 05121 from the Maintenance Program, etc. Simply putting in raw numbers will create difficulties in your reading the file as it grows because of the way the file will be Alph-Numercially sorted. By prefixing it logically, the listing will be grouped in some order which will be easy to follow.

Point of Interest: WIth regard to the FAA Ad's, the way to get the sequence to follow where the year 2000 alpha-numerically follow 99, set the AD as follows

FAA 99-00-00 (Note the space between "A" and "9"

FAA2000-00-00 (Note there is no space between "A" and "2")
